The fields of creativity and business come together at Kasarminmäki
Teaching in the sector of International Business and Culture of Kymenlaakso University of Applied Sciences is concentrated at the Kasarminmäki Campus of Kouvola.
The new construction is located on a slope between the main building and the library building. The most visible part is a glass café-exhibition gallery.
Today we have good reason to be satisfied because the long planned decisions to build the Kasarminmäki campus of have at last been realised. The buildings representing the Russian rationalism of the 1900s will have a new lease of life. The area formed by the historical buildings and the old wooded area create an inspiring atmosphere. The modern technology and development work used by the fields of the university are a fascinating contrast to this historical setting.
After construction of the new building and the migration of Business and of Design, Kasarminmäki is readier than ever to develop the economic life of the region. In addition to the students and staff of KyAMK, the area will also be home to units of the Technical University of Lappeenranta and the economic knowledge centre of Greater-Kouvola.
The objective of the new sector is to rise to become a sector of innovativeness through the combining of the traditional fields of creativity and business. The focus of the sector is product and service innovations. The sector is divided into two knowledge fields, which are Business and Design & Media.
