Information security checklist

  1. Information security is based on legislation and normative guidance.
  2. Everyone is responsible for information security, including you. This document focuses on information security relating to electronic data processing.
  3. Read the information security instructions of your organisation and adhere to them.
  4. The use of information systems always requires a personal access right.
  5. The security of an unprotected e-mail message equals the security of a postcard.
  6. Data Administration regularly makes backup copies of the most important information. However, you should always make backup copies of your essentially important files on a CD or memory stick, for example.
  7. Save your data on network drives. All information saved on a local computer hard drive will be lost if the hard drive crashes.
  8. Internet and email are primarily intended for work and study.
  9. Always remember to log off from the software and your computer when you finish working.
  10. If students use other than KyAMK's own email systems, they should forward their mail there from KyAMK's system.
  11. The staff should use the auto-reply function if they are absent for more than a week.
