R&D Services
Kymenlaakso University of Applied Sciences has three main tasks: education, research and development and regional development.
Our strengths are a multidisciplinarynature, stable and diversified expertise and extensive cooperation networks.
The aim of R&D is to produce services in cooperation with companies, municipalities and other development organisations. Research is mainly applied research and with other development activities new innovations, services, and entrepreneurs are introduced into the region. New knowledge and experiences also develop and renew the educational side. Students as part of development projects is also an important challenge and development area.
R&D operations work in networks and other development organisations, other higher education institutions, and BIC Kymi are often partners in projects. Entrepreneurship during studying periods or afterwards in incubator are possible options for students.
R&D organisation
R&D work is carried out in Kymenlaakso UAS sectors in fields of expertise. The university has also research directors in the main focus areas.
R&D is carried out infield of expertise in various sectors. They produce services for the whole Kymenlaakso region bringing together R&D personnel, lecturers, and students into common R&D projects. This way of operating also fosters students into professions of expertise and keeps lecturing and R&D personnel updated all the time.
Directors of the sectors are in charge of R&D. Research directors and other R&D personnel work in the various sectors. Coordination of R&D work is carried out by the R&D Coordination Department. This unit can be contacted regarding any R&D matters.
