Remote access - Use library e-resources at home

You can access electronic journals, e-books and databases outside the network of Kymenlaakso University of Applied Sciences via Nelli portal or Electronic Library.

The access to all databases acquired by the library is being locked until you have signed in. You can sign in by clicking on any of the login links in Nelli or icons in the Electronic Library. The username and password are the same as for the network of Kymenlaakso University of Applied Sciences.

For the sake of security, it is recommended to use remote access primarily by your own computer. If you are using a publicly available computer, you must remember to clear the cache of the web browser and close browser after the use.

Resources not usable via remote access:

 Arkisto, HS Digilehti, Bulletin of Statistics, SFS Online and Rakennustiedon tietopalvelu.

Nelli-portal

1) Go to Nelli portal. Pick up the Nelli portal of Kymenlaakso University of Applied Sciences on the list by clicking the link.

 

2) Then click the link Log In

 

3) Log in by using your username and password for the network of Kymenlaakso University of Applied Sciences.

4) How to find a resource, e.g. MOT Dictionaries

Option 1:

• Click Find Database link
• Type the name of the database or part of it in the search box, e.g. MOT
• Click the Search button
• You will get the link to the resource

Option 2:

• Click Find Database link
• Click Category link
• Pick up a category on the list, e.g. Business Administration
• Click the Search button
• You will get the list of the e-resources of Business Administration, on the list you will find e.g. MOT Dictionaries

Electronic library

1) Go to the electronic Library: www.kyamk.fi/library > Electronic Library
2) By clicking on the  icon you´ll get the log-in page
3) Give your user id and password
4) Click on the login button - the database is available for use

Problems with remote access

If you receive an SSL announcement while trying to connect a database (e.g. Arto, Linda) 

You may skip the problem by clicking on the one and only link on the page.
