Web-based learning

e-Learning or web-based learning is a flexible and modern way of studying. Most of our study fields provide the possibility for e-learning. In some degree programmes such as business and electronics, e-learning is embedded in the curriculum and for example students can complete Cisco certificates as virtual studies.

The use of the web-based learning environment is being developed in all sectors. For example, the environment can be used as a material bank or the resources offered by it can be utilised in addition to or supporting of contact teaching. Increasingly, many study modules can also be carried out through virtual studies.

Web-based learning makes studying more flexible with regards to time and place. It also develops initiative, active acquisition of information, and time management skills.

The web-based learning environment

The web-based learning environment used in Kymenlaakso University of Applied Sciences is Moodle. As it is browser-based, it can be used wherever the user has a connection to the Internet.
